Wat
Langkha Dam
Location
: Ayutthaya Historic Park.
There
are three main structures at Wat Langkha Dam. In front is a small, roofless,
sermon hall.
The
entrance is on the eastern side and there are a few small windows for
ventilation.
There
are traces of an altar and stubs of pillars inside.
Behind
this sermon hall is a bell-shaped chedi in the style associated with the
middle-
Ayutthaya
period. It has an octagonal base with several layers leading to its relic
chamber.
There are at least 11 rings around the spire. The finial is gone, but the
harmika
is
still in good shape. There is still plenty of stucco remaining.
A
second chedi can be found on the northwestern side of the sermon hall. Its
architectural style dates to the Late Ayutthaya period. There isn’t much known
about the history of Wat Langkha Dam. It was named after the
black tiles on its
roof. Bung Phra Ram Park Wat Langkhakhao |

Wat Langkha Khao
Location : Ayutthaya Historical Park.
There is a single bell-shaped
chedi at Wat Langkha Khao. The chedi has
an octagonal base with several layers leading to its relic chamber. There are
approximately 19 rings on its spire. The finial is missing, but the harmika is
in good shape with a full covering of stucco. There is a entrance on the eastern
side of the chedi. The inner chamber is hollow .
Given the similarity in their names,
this monastery probably had some connection with Wat Langkha Dam.
Bung Phra Ram Park Wat Chum Saeng |
Wat Chum Saeng
Location : Naresuan Road, beside
Wat Chum Saeng ‘s primary feature is a large bell-shaped tower.
This has eroded over the years, but its harmika and spire are mostly intact.
The spire has at least 17 rings, but the finial has disappeared. A sermon hall
and portions of its foundation are still visible east of this chedi. A large
Buddha image sits on the altar without arms and head .
A few fragments of Buddha images are
scattered nearby. The boundary walls of Wat
Chum Saeng are still visible at ground
level. There are also traces of a moat.
There is not much known about the
history of Wat Chum Saeng. The architectural style
of its bell-tower chedi suggests that
this monastery was built in the Middle Ayutthaya
period.

Wat Sangkha Pat
Location Ayutthaya Historic Park.
There is only a chedi at Wat Sangkha Pat. It has been constructed
in a style associated with the Haripunchai or Lanna kingdoms. Its architecture
includes an octagonal base and multiple layers that get smaller as they taper upward.
A number of arched niches showcase standing Buddha images at the upper level.
There is little known about the
history of Wat Sangkha Pat. Its architectural style
suggests that it was used by people
from the northern kingdoms.
Bung Phra Ram Park wat traitrueng |
Wat Traitrung
Location : Ayutthaya Historical
Park.
The monastery is situated in the
vicinity of Wat Phra Ram, established on the cremation site of the first
Ayutthayan monarch King U-Thong, officially called Ramathibodhi I.
There is a sermon hall (vihara) and a
chedi .There are a number of foundations of chedi rai (satellite chedi)
remaining.
Its historical background and period
of construction are unknown.
The temple could be named after the
City of Traitrung, a settlement in the area of
Kamphaengphet on the Ping River (one
of the major tributaries of the Chao Phraya
River) established by a group of Thai
from the area of Chieng Saen, who were expelled
by the Burmese in the latter part of
the twelfth century.
